DESCRIPTION:This workshop is the first meeting of the new working group
which addresses the complementarity and synergy between the LHC and the f
lavour factories within the new physics search. \n\nNew collaborations on
this topic were triggered by the two recent CERN workshop series 'Flavour
in the Era of the LHC' and 'CP Studies and Non-Standard Higgs Physics' at
the border line of collider and flavour physics and experiment and theory
. This follow-up working group wants to provide a continuous framework for
such collaborations and trigger new research work in this direction. Furt
her meetings at CERN (well-connected by VRVS) are planned in the near futu
re.\n\nThe meeting will be broadcasted by VRVS: virtual room EINSTEIN.\n\n

DESCRIPTION:Since the first workshop\, held September 2008 at CERN\, the N
obel prize was given for the prediction of having "at least three families
of quarks in nature"\, but we also experienced the difficulty in start up
of the LHC. This second workshop continues the quest on whether there are
new fermions beyond the observed 3 generations\, and on how to identify t
he first signatures\, be it indirect or direct. With the new cautious run
plan of the LHC\, it is also evident that we are still at the crossroads b
etween the Tevatron and the LHC\, and may remain so for the next year or t
wo. The workshop will focus on work that has come out since the first work
shop\, while covering some topics that may have been left out previously.
The aim is to bring together theorists and experimentalists with active in
terests in the 4th generation\, or any kind of new fermions beyond the exi
sting ones\, with emphasis on more relevance for the early phase of the LH
 C. \n\n The workshop will start in the morning of Thursday\, January 14\
, and run till noon\, January 16. There will be no registration fee\, alth
ough a banquet will be held up Taipei 101 on January 15th for speakers\, w
hich are by invitation only. Participants should complete their own hotel
booking. Other tips\, such as transportation\, are also given at the left
 hand bars.\n\nhttp://indico.cern.ch/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=68036

DESCRIPTION:With the LHC performing better than the expected and the two g

it is just time for the third in the series of B3SM workshops.\n\nThe work
shop will focus on the recent results as well as the future of B3SM in the
light of the current status.\n\nThe aim of this series of workshops is to
bring together theorists and experimentalists with active interests in th

with particular emphasis on the current phase of the LHC programme and fut

DESCRIPTION:The Northwest Terascale projects is a series of small informal
workshops being jointly hosted by the particle theory and experimental gr
oups at the Universities of Washington and Oregon. These are intended to b
e working meetings for interested experts\, with a minimal number of forma
l talks\, and most of the time spent on discussion and collaborative work
towards improving the prospects for physics discoveries at the LHC.\n\nThi
s workshop will take place February 6-10\, 2012. The focus of the workshop
is on searches for physics beyond the standard model using mesons contain

SUMMARY:WORKSHOP tau lepton decays: hadronic currents from Belle BaBar dat
 a and LHC signatures
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE-TIME:20120514T060000Z

DESCRIPTION:Tau leptons\, elementary constituents of matter are of fundame
ntal importance for science. Better modelling of their decays in modern la
nguage of hadronic interactions of intermediate energies may lead to a bre
akthrough in understanding relation between quantum chromodynamics and eff
ective models of hadrons interactions. This is important not only for desc
ription of hadrons interactions themselves\, but also for astrophysics: ev
olution of stars and model-ling of early Universe. inally tau leptons are
used for establishing signatures of New Physics at LHC measurements\, bet
ter understanding of their decays may lead to better separation between si
gnals and backgrounds.\n\nThe purpose of the meeting is to discuss work on
and embed\, for tau lepton decays\, the theoretical predictions calculate
d from models like Resonance Chiral Theory\, into phenomenologically usefu
l tools. Better algorithms for confronting predictions with experimental d
ata have to be prepared. Then\, final adaptation of theoretical prediction
s (fits to the data of the effective couplings and masses) has to be perfo
rmed. If after the fits discrepancies remain\, the model under investigati
on can be excluded but guidance for the further development is obtained. \
n\nPerforming a step in work for such programme is the main purpose of the
meeting and its backbone.\n\nThanks to the results of this project physic
s gains of high energy experiments will be improved as well\, in particula
r of LHC experiments. Better description of the data\, in form of hadronic
currents consistent with theoretical models\, may give starting point for
studies of QCD at low and intermediate energies. In these regimes perturb
ative methods are so far of limited use and need refinement. Such outcome
would be of the great importance and can provide a breakthrough in the dom
ain of intermediate energy scale. Better modelling of hadronic interaction
s may be useful for astrophysics applications as well. In particular to de
scribe evolution of stars and of early Universe.\nRelated topics are expec
ted to be discussed during the meeting as well and complete the frame of t
his workshop organized to stimulate present work on research concentrated
around TAUOLA Monte Carlo\nprogram.\n\nMeeting Access Information for evo:
