DESCRIPTION:The EGEE (Enabling Grids for E-sciencE) project provides the w
orld’s largest production Grid infrastructure as well as user support se
rvices for an increasing number of diverse user communities. The EGEE User
Forums are strategic events for the project and a key opportunity for par
ticipants to interact with other initiatives and communities. \n\nThe seco
nd User Forum 9-11 May 2007 will take place in Manchester\, UK in conjunct
ion with OGF20. This combined event will further strengthen the links betw
een EGEE and the Open Grid Forum\, bringing users and standards bodies tog
ether to ensure that the future of the Grid is complemented by the establi
shment of key standards. \n\nEGEE continues to foster innovative use of it
s infrastructure and technology by encouraging collaboration between diver
se scientific disciplines. The vision is to evolve and to expand the servi
ces offered to the EGEE user community\, maximising the scientific\, techn
ological and economical relevance of Grid-based activities.\n\nThe EGEE Us
er Forum provides opportunities for discussions between users and Grid ser
vice providers\, as well as the chance to interactively demonstrate the st
atus of prototypes and of the applications already in production. Particip
ants will be able to establish contact with EGEE and with its user communi
ties\, to explore possible cooperation between academic users and business
partners\, to contribute to plans for the future usage of the EGEE Grid i
nfrastructure\, and to discuss the evolution of gLite\, the EGEE Grid midd
leware.\n\nAs for the first User Forum\, EGEE invites abstracts to be subm
itted from the scientific and business community\, via the event web site
www.eu-egee.org/uf2 for presentations\, live demonstrations and posters. T
he call will open on 1 December and close 31 January 2007 (postponed to Fe
bruary 14th). The main areas of interest will cover key topics in Grid tec
hnology such as experience with and development of data access tools\, int
eractive usage of the Grid\, running complex workflows on the infrastructu
re and Grids as collaborative environments. \n\nThe programme committee wi
ll review the submissions and notify selected contributors by 6 March 2007
. Selected contributions will be included in the EGEE User Forum Book of A
bstracts. \n\nFor more details on the OGF 20 programme\, \nplease refer to

DESCRIPTION:The User Forum is an annual key event of the EGEE project. It
provides an important opportunity for members of the EGEE user community a
nd wider grid community to present their work\, discuss grid technology us
e with colleagues\, and learn about advances in middleware and application
services.\n\nThe third EGEE User Forum program consists of daily plenary
sessions featuring distinguished keynote speakers\, followed by parallel s
essions focusing on grid use within the many user disciplines\, and also o
n specific grid technologies and techniques. Sessions for demonstrations a
nd posters will augment the oral program\, and provide a key element of th
e forum.\n\nA number of Training sessions and Workshops are also organised
in conjunction to the Forum. Five main groups of training and workshops a
re on the programme: Embrace\, gLite\, gEclipse\, Healthgrid and OMII-Euro
pe. All of the training sessions and workshops will be starting on Thursda
y 14 February after the end of the User Forum and carry on the for rest of
the day at the Polydôme. For full information on these training events\,
please visit conference web site\n \nIf you have still not registered to
the EGEE User Forum\, registration is still open! To register\, please go
to the Official Registration page. Late Registration is open until 7 of Fe
bruary.\n\nPLEASE NOTE that a separate registration is compulsory for each
of the Training sessions and Workshops\, please follow the registration p
