DESCRIPTION:This Winter School on Strings\, Supergravity and Gauge Theorie
s will take place at CERN \, Geneva\, from Monday February 9 to Friday Fe
bruary 13\, 2009. It is organized by the CERN TH group . \nThe school is
an analytic continuation of a series of schools organized in the framework
of the former EC-RTN network "Constituents\, Fundamental Forces and Symme
tries of the Universe"\, hosted by CERN. This event is primarily meant for
training of Ph.D. students and young postdoc researchers and will consist
of general lectures in the mornings and working group sessions in the aft
ernoons.\n\nPrevious schools in this series were organized in 2005 at SI
 SSA in Trieste\, and in 2006 \, 2007 and 2008 at CERN\, Geneva. Other
similar schools have been organized in the past by the former related RTN
network "The Quantum Structure of Spacetime and the Geometric Nature of F
undamental Interactions".\n\nThis year the school is not funded by the E
uropean Union. \nThe school is funded by the CERN Theory Group\, and the A
rnold Sommerfeld Center of Ludwig-Maximilians University of Munich.\n\n\n\

DESCRIPTION:This is the third workshop of TEC-HQM\, the Theory-Experiment-
 Collaboration\non Hot Quark Matter (https://wiki.bnl.gov/TECHQM). \nIt is
a 5-day workshop which will focus on the comparison and critical assessmen
t\nof different analytical approaches and different Monte Carlo implementa

tegies at RHIC and \nat the LHC to contrast jet quenching theory with data
\, and the need to interface jet \nquenching with a modeling of the full h
eavy ion collision e.g. within hydrodynamic models. \n\nParticipation is f

DESCRIPTION:\n	** Registration deadline: March 9\, 2012 **\n	 \n\n	As the
LHC grasps more and more data\, particle physics is experiencing an excit
ing time. The next Cargese summer school is targetted particularly at adv
anced graduate students and young postdocs\, with a strong interest in col
lider physics. Theorists\, model builders\, phenomenologists\, and experim
entalists with an inclination for theory are all encouraged to apply. The
school will share the same spirit as the 2010 school.  The school unfort
unately overlaps with the Scottish Universities Summer School in Physics
in St Andrews\, which however is more oriented to experimentalists. There
will be three 1.5 h lectures per day followed by discussion sessions in th
e afternoon. Students will also have the opportunity to present their work
in short talks if they wish.\n\n	Place:\n\n	The school will take place at
the Institute for Scientific Studies in Cargese\, Corsica.\n\n	Lectures:
     (#C=CMS\, #A=ATLAS )     \n	  ♦ Experimental lectures:\n\n
Search for new physics at Tevatron: Aurelio Juste (ICREA & IFAE\, Univer
