DESCRIPTION:Lasers are crucial for the successful operation and continuous
  optimization of particle accelerators. To address this LA³NET is organis
 ing an international school on laser applications that is open for partici
 pants from within and outside the network.\nThe school will follow the suc
 cessful format pioneered in the DITANET project. Renowned lecturers will c
 omplement partner expertise to cover topics such as:\n		Introduction to la
 sers and accelerators\,\n	\n		Beam shaping\,\n	\n		Laser ion sources\,\n	\
 n		Laser acceleration\,\n	\n		Laser based beam diagnostics\,\n	\n		Industr
 ial applications.\n\nIn addition to the lectures there will be study group
 s\, poster sessions and two evening seminars on major international initia
 tives in the laser and light sources field. There will also be opportunit
 ies for discussion and networking at evening events and during an excursio
 n on the Wednesday afternoon.\nThe school will be hosted by GANIL\, France
  and organized by the LA³NET consortium.\nSeveral scholarships for early 
 stage researchers outside the network will be available. The scholarships
  will cover the cost of the school but recipients will have to arrange and
  pay for their own travel costs to the event.\nThe deadline for receiving 
 scholarship application forms (see Material) is 17 August 2012 and all app
 licants will be informed of the decision on awarding them a scholarship by
  31 August. The decision of the project panel will be final.\n\nhttp://ind
