DESCRIPTION:\n	Update on the search for the Higgs boson by the ATLAS and C
 MS experiments at CERN\n\n	Geneva\, 6 December 2011.  A seminar will be h
eld at CERN on 13 December at which the ATLAS and CMS experiments will pre
sent the status of their searches for the Standard Model Higgs boson.  Th
ese results will be based on the analysis of considerably more data than t
hose presented at the summer conferences\, sufficient to make significant
progress in the search for the Higgs boson\, but not enough to make any co
nclusive statement on the existence or non-existence of the Higgs.\n	The s
eminar begins at 14:00 CET. The auditorium in which the seminar will be he
ld is reserved for CERN personnel and researchers from the laboratory’s
user community\, but a video stream will be relayed to another auditorium
in which scientists will be on hand to answer questions.\n	At 16:30 CET CE
RN management and representatives of the two experiments will be available
to take questions from the media. Journalists wishing to attend should re
gister with the CERN Press Office.  Both the seminar and the following Q&
A will be webcast. Journalists following the webcast may submit questions
through Twitter using the hashtag #Higgsupdate.\n	Media wishing to attend
the press conference should fill in the form at https://indico.cern.ch/con
ferenceDisplay.py?confId=150980\n	Webcast does not need accreditation.\n
A press release will be issued at 15.30 CET in which there will be links t
 o photo and video material:http://press.web.cern.ch/press/PressReleases/Li
st.html\n	\n A video news release will also be provided to EBU in the aft
ernoon.\n	\n Text background on the Higgs can be found here:http://press.
