DESCRIPTION:Speakers: LAHIRI\, Susanta (Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics)
\nIt is expected that the huge amount of radioactivity will be produced at
lead bismuth eutectic converter targets. We would like to set our goal to
study detailed chemistry for separation of these radionuclides from the L
 BL.\n\nhttp://indico.cern.ch/contributionDisplay.py?contribId=3&confId=189

DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Dr. POPESCU\, Lucia-Ana (SCK-CEN)\nThe Belgian Nucle
ar Research Center SCK•CEN is currently working on the design of the MYR
RHA research reactor\, able to operate in both critical and sub-critical m
ode as an Accelerator-Driven System (ADS). When operated as an ADS\, the M
YRRHA reactor core will be coupled to an external neutron source\, which c
 onsists of a 600-MeV\, 2- to 4-mA proton beam impinging on a lead-bismuth
spallation target.\n\nBy using a small fraction (up to 5%) of the MYRRHA p
roton beam\, intensities of 100-200 uA can be sent to a separate facility
called ISOL@MYRRHA\, where pure and intense Radioactive Ion Beams (RIBs) w
ill be produced via the Isotope Separator On Line method. ISOL@MYRRHA aims
to be complementary to existing facilities\, focusing on experimental pro
grams requiring long uninterrupted beam times.\n\nIn this talk\, the MYRRH
A and ISOL@MYRRHA facilities will be introduced and the status of the proj
ect will be given. Links to the project on the development of a Pb/Bi loop
target for EURISOL will be made.\n\nhttp://indico.cern.ch/contributionDis
