DESCRIPTION:The purpose of this workshop is to discuss the present status 
 and foreseeable progress of our understanding of quarkonium production\, w
 ithin the theoretical framework offered by QCD. Emphasis will be given to 
 detailed presentations of the measurements made in pp collisions by the LH
 C experiments. We envisage first LHC results on quarkonium polarization to
  be discussed at this meeting. There will be significant time for discussi
 ons and to strengthen collaborations among the participants\, including a 
 free afternoon and a group dinner. To ensure fruitful discussions\, partic
 ipation will be limited to about 50 persons.\n\nThe meeting will take plac
 e in Vienna’s University of Technology\, under the local organization of
