DESCRIPTION:The progress of a project on the research and development of f
 undamental\ntechnologies for accelerator magnets using high Tc superconduc
 tors (HTS)\nis presented. The project is funded by Japan Science and Techn
 ology\nAgency. The aim of the project is to establish technologies for\ncr
 yo-cooler-cooled HTS accelerator magnets wound with coated conductors.\nAt
  the first stage of the project\, the conceptual design study of\naccelera
 tors was carried out\, and the coils of the HTS magnets which are\ncompati
 ble with these accelerators were designed. The R&D of winding\ntechnologie
 s for coils with three-dimensional shape and those with\nnegative bend are
  in progress. The influence of the tape magnetization\non the field qualit
