DESCRIPTION:\n	The Technology and Instrumentation in Particle Physics 2011
(TIPP 2011) conference is the second in the new series of international c
onferences in the field of particle physics sponsored by IUPAP. The progra
m focuses on all areas of detector development and instrumentation in part
icle physics\, astro-particle physics and closely related fields.\nHere is
a rough general guideline: for the existing experiments/projects (running
\, under construction\, or in the plan\, or large R&D projects)\, we are
soliciting two types of talks. One type is the overview talk (~25+5 min) f
or each experiment/project\, the other type is more elaborate/focused/sho
rt talks on sub-detectors (15+5 mins).  For individual smaller scale (R&
 D) work\, one abstract/talk should be good enough (length somewhat flexibl
e\, typically short). \nThe areas covered by the parallel tracks are cate
gorized as follows:\n	\n \n Experimental detector systems\n Gaseous de
 tectors\n Semiconductor detectors\n Calorimeters\n Particle identificat
 ion\n Photon detectors\n Dark Matter Detectors\n Neutrino Detectors\n
 Astrophysics and space instrumentation\n Front-end electronics\n Trigger
and data acquisition systems\n Machine Detector Interface and beam instr
umentation\n Instrumentation for medical\, biological and materials resea
rch\n Since this is a science driven cross-disciplinary conference on Tec
hnology and Instrumentation\, the overview talks from each experiment shou
ld not be the usual "beauty contest" type of presentations shown at typica
l physics or hardware conferences. The overview talk for a given experimen
t should start from science motivations\, then focus on the challenges in
technology and instrumentation\, and how the experiment/project overcame t
he challenges\, the experience of designing and building such systems and
lessons learned. What would especially be good to hear is not only what th
e challenges were\, but what challenges they are still struggling to over
come! This conference is not for polished talks about all that is beautifu
l and works well. We'd like to hear what the limitations are of the curre
nt experiments and how it limits the science and focus on ideas on how to
break these barriers. The overview talks could reference/advertise the sh
orter (more focused) talks from the same experiment. One could think of th
e overview talks as "mini-plenary" talks (one per experiment/project). In
some cases\, especially large sub-detectors\, it is also possible to cons
ider an overview talk (with a few abstracts on the details). \n		 \n\n\n
