DESCRIPTION:Event generators today are indispensable as tools for the\nmod
 elling of complex physics processes\, that jointly lead to\nthe production
  of hundreds of particles per event at LHC\nenergies. Generators are used 
 to set detector requirements\,\nto formulate analysis strategies\, or to c
 alculate acceptance\ncorrections.  \n\nThese lectures describe the physics
  that goes into the\nconstruction of an event generator\, such as hard pro
 cesses\,\ninitial- and final-state radiation\, multiple interactions\nand 
 beam remnants\, hadronization and decays\, and how these\npieces come toge
 ther. The current main generators are\nintroduced\, and are used to illust
 rate uncertainties in\nthe physics modelling. Some trends for the future a
