DESCRIPTION:The series of four lectures will introduce some of the importa
nt statistical methods used in Particle Physics\, and should be particular
ly relevant to those involved in the analysis of LHC data. The lectures wi
ll include an introduction to statistical tests\, parameter estimation\, a
nd the application of these tools to searches for new phenomena. Both fre
quentist and Bayesian methods will be described\, with particular emphasis
on treatment of systematic uncertainties. The lectures will also cover u
nfolding\, that is\, estimation of a distribution in binned form where the
variable in question is subject to measurement errors.\n\nhttp://indico.c
