DESCRIPTION:The construction of ever larger and costlier accelerator facil
 ities has a limited future\, and new technologies will be needed to push t
 he energy frontier. Plasma wakefield acceleration is a rapidly developing 
 field and is a promising candidate technology for future high energy colli
 ders.  We focus on the recently proposed idea of  proton-driven plasma wak
 efield acceleration and describe the current  status and plans for this ap
