Arrival

Airport instructions are generally presented on board of your aircraft. Rio arrival procedures are very standard. As soon as you arrive you will go through passport control with separate counters for Brazilian and non-Brazilian citizens.
 
ATTENTION TO GET YOUR VISA IN TIME
 
Be aware that, depending on your nationality, you MAY NEED A VISA to be admitted to Brazil. If you have a TOURIST VISA, please remember to check TOURISM in the appropriate space of the admission form.  The best is to present in the Brazilian Consulate the formal letter of invitation as one of the documents to be presented.

If you have any problem feel free to call us.  Do not forget to exchange some money to Reais. The airport is a convenient place to do that at Banco do Brasil S. A.

Registration
 
All participants are requested to register on this LISHEP 2011 webpage in the appropriate item of the left side menu.  All calculation about LISHEP, number of persons in the conference room, dinners, eventual tours, and so on is made from the list of Registrants.
 
 ACCOMODATION
 
 Although the conference has no official hotel we have selected a few ones based on proximity to the workshop venue, quality and fare. Please,  contact  the hotel to check the availability and inform them that you are attending LISHEP 2011 so you can get the special conference rate.
July is the high season in Rio de Janeiro so you are strongly adviced not to wait for the last minute to make your reservation.

Your Talk
 
Please make your slides available before the school and the workshop in preference  PPT or PDF.  You have todo your own upload please, at least two days before your talk on the web page on indico:

it will be possible to use your laptop for your presentation. However, please bring a copy of your slides just in case of unexpected problems.
Pendrive will be welcome.  If you experiment any difficulty with your talk please let us know to be possible to help you.
 
PARTICIPANTS

 
A strong participation of physicists and students from all over the world is encouraged. We would like to give the opportunity to the young researchers, students, to get in contact with lecturers, speakers, experts on the subjects of the LISHEP2011 since they will be the future collaborators and will develop together the future detectors and experiments. Then, please help us to get success in this workshop.
 
Poster Session


 
Participants willing to present a poster in LISHEP should send to the Convener of the session in which the poster will be shown, title and an abstract of around 200 words, before 15 days of the Workshop. The size of the poster should be a maximum of 1.2 m height and 1.0 m width.
 
Transportation
From the Airport to Hotels we advise you to take a blue taxi from COOTRAMO, which you can book in advance, or you can book and pay it at a desk in the airport. The price of the run is higher than the yellow taxis.
Rio de Janeiro has all type of transportation, bus, metro and Taxis.  In the case of LISHEP this year is better to take a taxis.

Itinerary:
 
In the morning will start going up the Sugar Loaf. One of the most well-known belvederes in Rio, the Sugar Loaf Mountain has an impressing view over the Guanabara Bay, Copacabana beach and Corcovado Mountain and will give the group a macro perspective over the city.
 
We than head to Centro, where the group will get to know more about the history of Rio de Janeiro and Brasil by visualizing examples of the Portuguese colonial style architecture  as well as other significant constructions and areas of the city.
 
Between 13:00h and 13:30h we will lunch in Meat House called Porcão.
After lunch the group will be lead to the International Airport
 
Cost per person, considering a group of 20 people: R$ 230,00

Electrical power in Rio is mostly 110 Volts / 60 cycles, A.C, but some hotels provide 220 Volts outlets.
