The lecture introduces Grid Computing, e-science and
the EU-funded EGEE (Enabling Grids for E-sciencE)
project. Grid computing permits "virtual computing"
across administrative domains, so that resources can
be shared and orchestrated. The EGEE project is
establishing a major international Grid infrastructure to
support collaborative research, engineering, public
service.
This intended to interest researchers,
lecturers, students and system managers who would
like to understand more about these developments.
