    • 10:00 - 12:00 Evaluating program correctness and performance with new software tools from Intel 2h0'
Recent multi-core and x86 personal computers give programmers more power than ever before. But with this power also comes an increased responsibility, which we might not yet be fully prepared to bear. This talk will focus on the new software tools from Intel, which ease parts of the software development process on a modern microarchitecture. We will discuss the Inspector utility which checks for memory and threading correctness, and the VTune Amplifier profiler that allows for advanced performance monitoring. The talk will be supported by examples from the CERN domain and will also mention how to use the tools in our organization at no extra charge.
