| Description |
A new concept to substantially increase the performance of colliders has been developed and successfully tested at the INFN Frascati. The basic idea is to use a new colliding scheme relying on a large Piwinski angle and a vertical crab waist modulation in order to significantly increase the luminosity of storage ring colliders. The underlying theory of such a colliding scheme will be introduced and results of its implementation on the DaΦne Φ-Factory will be presented. Finally, a scaling on the SuperB-Factory as well as a preliminary study of a parameter list for a LHC luminosity upgrade will also be presented and discussed. |
