Description
Our next beam physics meeting will focus on beam delivery system issues. It will take place Wednesday November 26 at 17:00 CET. It is a joint meeting with ILC. Please find the agenda at the following web-page: http://ilcagenda.linearcollider.org/event/3166
Participants: * E. Adli, D. Schulte, L Rinolfi, H. Burckhard, M. Fitterer, F. Stulle, R. Tomas, B. Dalena, D. Wang + webex participants (please see web) Presentations: * K. Moffeit: Extraction line polarimeter at CLIC * Y. Nosochkov: CLIC Distributions at IP K. Moffeit: Extraction line polarimeter at CLIC - presents an ILC type extraction line polarimeter and energy measurement (for CLIC crossing angle of 20 mrad) - some differences: ILC/CLIC : CLIC higher energy weill require longer magents, CLIC large beamstrahlung mom. spread may not allow focusing system for smal beam size at Compton IP - "cartoon" suggestion for a CLIC extraction line presented Discussion: - DS: difficult to find focusing for the spent beam at CLIC Questions Q AS: what is the purpose of photon and spent-beam separation A DS: beamstrahlung must be used for lumonisity optimization Y. Nosochkov: CLIC Distributions at IP - recieved beam data from right after the IP in Guinea-Pig format from R. Tomas - main remark 1) on amount of power in low energy tail (1 MW at /E0 < 50%) - main remark 2) even opposite charge e's can be focused, but particles in energy tails must be collimated Comments: DS: A. Ferrari tried to find focusing options for spent beam, but opted for a system w/o focussing in the end - but we should still consider a focusing system DS: Suggests K. Elsener presents the detector options in one of the next meetings Next meeting: R. Tomas and A. Seryi when the good time for the next meeting will take place EA, 26-nov-2008
