This has information about software required for the practicals. Please check that you have this software on your laptop.

The Enabling Grids for E-sciencE (EGEE) project is funded by the European Commission.  It is developing an international, production quality, grid infrastructure.

This talk gives a brief introduction to grid computing.  It then gives an overview of the EGEE project summarising its activities and status.

The talk includes an overview of operations: the organisational infrastructure that maintains and supports the EGEE grid.

It also describes the current application communities that are using the EGEE grid.
