Description
The Fermi-LAT lobes (Su et al 2010) are two large structures observable in gamma-rays above and below the Galactic center. In order to understand the physical origin of the Fermi lobes, it is crucial to have a model independent derivation of their properties. I will present a new method to study the components of diffuse emission called the spectral components analysis (Malyshev 2012). At first, as an example, I will apply this method to the WMAP data and then I will show some preliminary results of the Fermi-LAT data analysis related to the Fermi lobes.
