| Description |
General aspects of thermal particle production from a relativistic medium are reviewed. In particular, a "hard" kinematic regime in which next-to-leading order corrections are of modest magnitude, is contrasted with a "soft" regime, in which it is a challenge to obtain a consistent leading-order result, and next-to-leading order corrections could be substantial. Cosmological applications are briefly mentioned. |
