Tutorials
Thursday morning:
Four parallel tutorials will run during the first morning. Attendance is optional and participants must sign up in advance. Three hands-on sessions will offer participants the possibility of trying out different technical aspects of the OAI-PMH and a fourth discussion forum will facilitate an exchange of experiences and ideas for OA promotion.
Technical Session
Thursday afternoon:
The technical session will deal with the latest in computing and information technology that can be used in scholarly communication or that has been specifically designed for such use.
Breakout groups
Friday morning:
Small groups of participants will meet to discuss in detail particular aspects of OAI work. Read details of the groups and sign up in advance. Each group will feed back a short summary of its discussion to the general workshop.
Library and Publishing Session
Friday morning and Friday afternoon:
These sessions will deal with innovative application of OAI technologies to scholarly communication and issues connected with managing repositories and the relationships with publishers.
Supporting the Research Process
Saturday morning:
How current research trends influence data storage needs.
