DESCRIPTION:Speakers: FAVARO\, Carlotta ()\nTowards the end of 2009 the fi
 rst collisions are expected to take place at the Large Hadron Collider at 
 CERN. After about four years of operation\, the accelerator will be upgrad
 ed to the so-called Phase 1: a peak luminosity of 2x10^34 cm^(-2)s^(-1) is
  expected\, resulting in an increase by a factor of two with respect to th
 e initial specifications. In this occasion\, the CMS pixel detector will b
 e replaced with an upgraded system\, with major changes to the mechanical 
 structure\, front-end electronics and the cooling system. In this presenta
 tion I discuss the performance of the pixel detector and track reconstruct
 ion with the new layout\, based on Monte Carlo simulations.\n\nhttp://indi
