DESCRIPTION:Speakers: OLNESS\, Fred (SMU Dallas)\nWe analyze the propertie
 s of the ACOT scheme for heavy quark\nproduction and make use of the MS-ba
 r massless results at NNLO and\nN3LO for the structure functions F2 and FL
  in neutral current\ndeep-inelastic scattering to estimate the higher orde
 r corrections.\nFor this purpose we decouple the heavy quark mass entering
  the phase\nspace from the one entering the dynamics of the short distance
  cross\nsection.  We show numerically that the phase space mass is general
 ly\nmore important.  Therefore\, the dominant heavy quark mass effects at\
 nhigher orders can be taken into account using the massless Wilson\ncoeffi
 cients together with an appropriate slow-rescaling prescription\nimplement
 ing the phase space constraints.  Combining the exact ACOT\nscheme at NLO 
 with these expressions should provide a good\napproximation to the missing
  full calculation in the ACOT scheme at\nNNLO and N3LO.\n\nhttp://indico.c
