DESCRIPTION:Speakers: JOHNSON\, T. (SLAC)\nThe FreeHEP Java library contai
ns a complete implementation \nof Root IO for Java. The library uses the "
Streamer Info" embedded in files created \nby Root 3.x to dynamically crea
te high performance Java proxies for Root objects\, \nmaking it possible t
o read any Root file\, including files with user defined \nobjects. In thi
s presentation we will discuss the status of this code\, explain its \nimp
lementation and demonstrate performance using benchmark comparisons to sta
ndard \nRoot IO. We will also describe recently added support for reading
files remotely \nusing rootd and xrootd protocols.\n\nWe will also show so
me uses of this library\, including using JAS3 to analyze Root \ndata\, us
ing the WIRED event display to visualize data from Root files and using \n
rootd and Java servlet technology to make live plots web accessible - with
examples \nfrom GLAST and BaBar. We will also explain how you can trivial
ly make your own root \ndata web-accessible using the AIDA Tag Library and
  Jakarta Tomcat.\n\nhttp://indico.cern.ch/contributionDisplay.py?contribId
