DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Dr. BARTALINI\, P. (CERN)\nIn the framework of the L
 CG Simulation Project\, we present the Generator\nServices Sub-project\, l
aunched in 2003 under the oversight of the LHC Monte\nCarlo steering group
(MC4LHC). The goal of the Generator Services Subproject\nis to guarantee
the physics generator support for the LHC experiments. Work is\ndivided in
to four work packages: Generator library\; Storage\, event\ninterfaces and
particle services\; Public event files and event database\;\nValidation a
nd tuning. The current status and the future plans in the four\ndifferent
work packages are presented. Some emphasis is put on the Monte\nCarlo Gene
rator Library (GENSER) and on the Monte Carlo Generator Database\n(MCDB).
\n\nGENSER is the central code repository for Monte Carlo generators and\n
generator tools. it was the first CVS repository in the LCG Simulation\np
roject and it is currently distributed in AFS. GENSER comprises release an
d\nbuilding tools for librarian and end users. GENSER is going to graduall
y\nreplace the obsolete CERN library in Monte Carlo generators support.\n\
nMCDB is a public database for the configuration\, book-keeping and storag
e of\nthe generator level event files. The generator events often need to
be\nprepared and documented by Monte Carlo experts. MCDB aims at facilitat
ing\nthe communication between Monte-Carlo experts and end-users. Its use
can be\noptionally extended to the official event production of the LHC ex
 periments.\n\nhttp://indico.cern.ch/contributionDisplay.py?contribId=409&s
