DESCRIPTION:Speakers: FACAL SAN LUIS\, Pedro (U)\nRadiation in the microwa
 ve band from the passage of charged particles\nthrough air has been detect
 ed in the laboratory. Applied to extensive\nair showers this radiation cou
 ld provide a novel technique for\nultra-high energy cosmic rays detection 
 over large area\, with 100%\nduty cycle and virtually no atmospheric atten
 uation. Detection in the\nGHz band is being actively pursued at the Pierre
  Auger\nObservatory. The status of microwave R&D activities at Auger will 
 be\nreported\, and in particular the design and performances of AMBER and\
 nMIDAS\, two different prototypes of an imaging parabolic dish detector\,\
