DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Mr. DE BOER\, Piter (Institute of Informatics\, Univ
ersity of Amsterdam)\, Dr. OLABARRIAGA\, Silvia (Institute of Informatics
/ Academic Medical Center\, University of Amsterdam)\, Dr. GLATARD\, Tris
tan (Institute of Informatics / Academic Medical Center\, University of A
msterdam)\, Mr. BOULEBIAR\, Kamel (Institute of Informatics / Academic Me
dical Center\, University of Amsterdam)\n* Data management requirements\n\
nThe data has to be handled directly by end-users. It is thus mandatory to
set up a high-level data management tool providing a uniform view of dist
ributed storage. A user-level file access control is also required to prev
ent users from ruining someone else's experiment because of wrong data man
ipulations.\n\nAlthough the Logical File Catalog provides a uniform view o
f the SEs\, a layer is missing to make them usable by end-users. In an exp
eriment\, several file transfers need to be performed between local and Gr
id storage\, which must be hidden. Moreover\, file access control is based
on the VO membership and not sufficiently fine-grained.\n\n* Jobs managem
ent requirements\n\nThe needs of the application in this area are:\n- Intu
itive parameter sweep specification\n- Intermediate status check-pointing\
n- Fault tolerance mechanisms\nThe first point is addressed by a dedicated
GUI. The two last points are expected to benefit from the use of a workfl
 ow management system.\n\nhttp://indico.cern.ch/contributionDisplay.py?cont
