135831 Conferences false [["minutes", "Minutes"], ["notes", "Notes"], ["paper", "Paper"], ["poster", "Poster"], ["slides", "Slides"], ["summary", "Summary"]] University of Liverpool g.p.wall@liv.ac.uk 38364 The DITANET Consortium held a three day international conference on diagnostic techniques for particle accelerators and beam instrumentation in Seville, Spain between 9^th and 11^th November 2011.<br /> The conference, organised and hosted by DITANET partner University of Seville/Centro Nacional de Aceleradores (CNA) brought together all beneficiary, associated and adjunct partners from the consortium. It was also open to participants from the world-wide diagnostics community, in particular to researchers in their early career stage.<br /> The latest developments and trends in our exciting research field were presented in both, oral and poster sessions. Invited talks given by research leaders from around the world forming the core of this interdisciplinary event. These were complemented by talks selected from all contributions to the conference.<br /> The conference provided ample opportunities for critical discussions of research outcomes, exchange of knowledge and for meeting friends from the diagnostics community.<br /> The scientific program for conference reflected the extremely broad research program being carried out by the DITANET partners covering all essential aspects of state-of-the-art beam diagnostics R&amp;D. All DITANET trainees were given the opportunity to present their research results in oral presentation.<br /> A number of scholarships were made available for researchers from outside the network.&nbsp;<br /> Invited talks from selected international research leaders as well as contributed talks from all submitted abstracts&nbsp;were selected by the Scientific Program Committee. Amphitheatre At the ESRF synchrotron light source the diagnostic systems that measure and monitor the electron beam parameters cover both the Injector system (200MeV - 6 GeV, 5mA) and the 844m circumference Storage Ring (6GeV, 200mA). It is the Storage Ring diagnostics that are in constant need of the ultimate possible performances like resolution, absolute precision, speed of measurement and a wide scope of functionalities. It is for this reason that upgrades and modernizations are being conceived, planned and implemented here almost permanently on various devices and systems. These include the position monitors and their associated orbit stabilization system, the emittance monitors, the beam-loss monitors and the current and lifetime monitors. This presentation will detail their concept, their functionality and their results.
