The installation of TSR, as an experiment to be included in the HIE-ISOLDE programme, was recently approved by CERN’s Research Board. Such a facility will provide a capability for experiments with stored secondary beams that is unique in the world. The possible physics programme has already been laid out in a recent review: M. Grieser et al., Eur. Phys. J. Special Topics 207, 1-117 (2012). The aim of the workshop will be to sharpen the physics cases and to discuss the integration into the HIE-ISOLDE project.
