Description
Cosmology has come a long way from being based on a small number of observational facts to being a precision science driven by a wealth of data. I will first discuss how we can probe the initial state of the Universe using astronomical observations and then summarize the highest precision probe to date of the physical origin of cosmic structure: the Planck 2013 results on primordial non-Gaussianity and inflation.
