Description
Abstract: A workshop on Machine Protection for LHC and its injectors was held in March 2013. The operational experience with machine protection systems during the first LHC running period 2009-2013 was reviewed. The planned modifications of the machine protect systems and their consequences for operation after LS1 were presented. Areas for further improvement, while keeping a coherency between the different machine protection systems, were discussed. The summary will be subdivided in three presentations : 1. MPS operational experience (2008 – 2012) and outlook & Electrical circuit related protection (M. Zerlauth) 2. Injection, Extraction and Beam Dump & Beam diagnostics (J. Uythoven) 3. Collimation and Movable Devices & Operation after LS1 (S. Redaelli) Coffee / tea will be served after the seminar in the salle 'Pas Perdus' ATS Seminars Organisers: H. Burkhardt (BE), T. Stora (EN), G. De Rijk (TE)
