Simple WIMP models with the correct relic density or beyond the SM models like split susy motivate heavy weakly interacting DM candidates with mass M>>MW. For such a large mass splitting between mediator and DM, naive perturbation theory is spoiled by the presence of large Sudakov-type logarithms ∼ α log2(2 M/mW ).
These universal logarithms need to be resummed in a SCET like effective field theory. I will introduce this framework and discuss the implications using the example of scalar triplet annihilations to line photons.
