About the Speaker
Douglas Thain is an Professor and Associate Chair of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Notre Dame. He received the Ph.D. in Computer Sciences from the University of Wisconsin and the B.S. in Physics from the University of Minnesota. His research is focused on the design of large scale computing systems for science and engineering, including
scientific workflows, distributed filesystems, and high throughput computing.
