GGUS fail-safe development

ggus is working on a fail-safe system using Oracle database facilities which also offer international character set support, an old requirement still pending. The facility will enter operation with the February 2010 ggus release. NB!! Make sure this date is acceptable given the LHC restart on February 5th.

Change of policy on middleware bugs ing ggus

When a ggus ticket reveals a middleware bug, we decided to adopt the EGEE reviewers' recommendation to no more close the ggus ticket as 'unsolved' with reference to the bug number but to keep it 'In Progress' until the bug is 'fixed'. The ggus documentation should be changed accordingly. We shall investigate possibilities for savannah email parsing when a bug enters status 'ready for review' which should correspond to ggus ticket status 'waiting for reply'. When a workaround is available it should be recorded in ggus and the ticket should be closed as 'solved' while the savannah one remains open until a true patch enters production. Francesco, expressing JRA1 policy, recommended that all problems are recorded in ggus as success metrics are calculated from ggus and not from savannah data. Roberto also said that LHCb in entirely ggus based for experiment users' and sites' operational issues. All supporters are recommended to adjust ticket priority if the submitter chose an inappropriate value.
