Discussion was held with Antti Onnela GLIMOS, Jonathan Duplissy, Lau Gatignon “Liaison physicist , Christopher Griggs DSO-PH, Bruno Pichler DDSO Subject: 1 Installation: inspections and follow-up 2 Safety file 3 Future plans 1. The experiment has followed up on all safety aspects discussed initially at our safety meeting 14 July 2009 (http://indico.cern.ch/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=63646 ): The points discussed were in accordance with ISIEC sections 1 to 12. * Mechanical safety (ISIEC 5,6): D.Perini (Mechanical expert) contacted with final approval * Electrical safety (ISIEC 4): V.Iwanski (Electrical expert) contacted with final electrical reception and report from the EN/GMS service * Gases and chemicals safety (ISIEC 2,3): A.Sharma (FGSO) contacted and safety instruction integrated * Radiation safety (ISIEC 7,8): M.Hauschild (RSO): Radioactive source validated with RP-service G.Dumont * Fire and evacuation: Fire Brigade contacted and informed about all risks * General safety: B.Pichler with final safety “approval”. 2. Safety File: all relevant safety details and issues (planning, schedule, reports, ISIEC, etc.) are found and updated in the common espace server: https://espace.cern.ch/test-SharePoint-CLOUD/_layouts/viewlsts.aspx and in the directory “G:\Experiments\CLOUD”. 3. The experiment will operate for the next four or more years We wish to congratulate the CLOUD experiment for its successful safety integration during the difficult installation phase and up to reception. Safety has been integrated into the project at the design stage which has significantly contributed to this positive result. With our best regards, Ch. Griggs and B.Pichler (PH-Safety Office)
