AD e-cooler swap during LS3

Adriana indicated that the e-cooler presenttation in IEFFC originally planned for July was most likely differed to september. Today's summary is to report on the status of the main components and to check nothing has been overlooked. She reminded that it is not possible to perform a full scale tests of all systems assembled together before installation, so the Go/NoGo decisions will rely on individual systems tests.

Some magnets production and tests are late (6-8 weeks), but nothing than cannot be absorbed in the current installation planning. Besides, the most critical magnets are validated already. One of the2  toroid vacuum chamber encountered issues during NEGing operations, which will have to be repeated after stripping.
The electron gun production completion is expected for the end of this month and remains the most critical item. Ongoing tests with a prototype gun using mostly the same technologies show good results, leaving us to hope for the best.
An internal review is being planned for September and the Go/No Go review will be held on 15th December. It was questioned who was ultimately responsible for the Go/No Go decisions. Francois suggested it should be the equipment owner Group Leader (BI), this remains to be confirmed.

Shielding blocks movements during LS3

Joris showed the results of on-site visits plus 3d analysis of the expected shielding blocks movements, to allow for AD machine magnets extraction/re-installation for refurbishment.
3 areas are considered, which will be well separated in space and time. The provisional storage pattern of the extracted blocks was shown, and in general endorsed, apart from the 8 x 24-16-8 blocks above the 3 quads downstream of the e-cooler which are proposed to be located near bdg 393. The extraction/re-installation of the "small" magnets (correctors and solenoids) around the e-cooler need to be better integrated in the dismantling+re-installation sequence.

PAX tests at TELMAX - results

Nancy showed the details of the 2 test campaigns at TELMAX in 2025 and 2026. She reminded the main objectives (tests of a new generation of quantum sensing detectors and in particular the new TES microcalorimeter technology) in view of achieveing antiprotonic Helium X ray spectroscopy at the ASACUSA experiment to test quantum electrodynamics. Nancy explained the  the setup and the results, that allowed to clearly identify the spectral X-rays of the various (solid) targets antiprotonic atoms formed. She underlined that the availability of the multi mini bunch structure of the beam (with as litle as 1000 pbats per mini bunch), as made available by ABP and OP teams, has been instrumental in the possibility to obtain the expected results. the analysis of the results is still ongoing, but it already opened the door to many new possibilities (pukse shape discrimination, dark matter searches etc). The tests will be complemented by a pion test campaign at PSI, and then the isnatllation on ASACUSA pbar-He experiment. The long run activities include possibly

Antideuteronic atom spectroscopy at ELENA and combine with PUMA setup for strong interaction studies.

AOB

Alexandre questioned about the status of the magnets realignmentcampaign discussed for LS3. Davide will resume the discussion with GM to fix a strategy. The only decision made so far is the measurement of the entire machine at the beginning of the LS3, that will allow to decide which mgnets are potentially concerned by re-alignment and understand the consequences in particular for VSC.

Next ADTC meeting to be held on 30th July.
