Description
The search for same-sign (SS) isolated lepton pairs is a very powerful probe for new physics. This talk summarizes the current experimental status and strategies used by the CMS Collaboration in the search for new physics involving SS dileptons, (b)jets and
missing energy. Results are based on a 4.98 fb−1 sample of proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV collected by the CMS detector. This study not only probes the "naturalness" regions of the Supersymmetric Standard Model parameter space both in its R-parity- conserving and violating incarnation, but also disfavours the FCNC interpretation via same-sign top production for the mass-dependent forward-backward asymmetries observed at the Tevatron.
