Sangam @ HRI: Instructional Workshop in Particle Physics will be an advanced school cum workshop on current topics in particle physics. It will be a six day event during March 25-30, 2013 which will include pedagogic lectures in the mornings, followed by 1-2 research level review talks/seminars in the afternoon. The pedagogic lectures are aimed at providing basic understanding of the research topics being covered and highlight their current status. The seminars will provide a glimpse of cutting edge research in the field to the younger participants.
Topics to be covered include, Neutrino Physics, Astroparticle Physics, Dark Matter, LHC Physics, Higgs Physics and selected topics in Beyond Standard Model Physics. List of invited lecturers include Prof. Andre de Gouvea, Prof. Tao Han, Prof. Xerxes Tata and Prof. Francesco Vissani amongst others.
The school is primarily intended for advanced graduate students and junior researchers. The anticipated number of participants is around 30-35 depending on the availability of accommodation. Students and young postdocs are encouraged to apply.
