Description

The nature of the electroweak phase transition is still weakly constrained experimentally and many possibilities remain open, in particular when the scalar sector of the theory is extended. There has been growing interest lately in the possibility of a strong first-order electroweak phase transition, not only because of its relevance for baryogenesis but also because it is a potential source of gravitational waves detectable at LISA. I will report on recent work attempting to link  flavour cosmology with electroweak symmetry breaking and show how the electroweak baryogenesis mechanism is a natural outcome in composite Higgs models with partial fermion compositeness.
