Description

During the last decades string dualities have proven to be powerful tools to obtain new results in mathematics and in physics. In this talk I will first present some general aspects of such dualities and then I will focus on the concrete example of topological string theory. This model can be regarded as a simplified version of string theory which captures some geometrical information on the background geometry. In particular I will review some progress for this model which have been made in the last couple of years.
