Description

In this talk I will review some recent aspects of 3d N=2 gauge theories, focusing on their relations with the parent 4d N=1 models.
First I will generalize the reduction of Seiberg duality to models with tensorial matter fields.
Then I will discuss the results on supersymmetry enhancement, focusing on the derivation of the three sphere partition function of 3d models obtained by the circle reduction of 4d N=1 "Argyres-Douglas" lagrangians.
Eventually I will discuss the enhancement of global symmetries, reducing the E7 surprise models, namely USp(2N) SQCD with eight flavors and an antisymmetric, to 3d and surveying their rich structure of symmetries and dualities.
