Description

Integrable models have prominently emerged in the past studies of perturbative QCD. I will argue that (approximate) integrability
is a natural consequence of confinement and asymptotic freedom. I will illustrate this reasoning by two examples. First, I will show
how it leads to the ansatz for glueball quantum numbers in (2+1)-dimensional Yang-Mills theory. Recent lattice data
confirmed many predictions of this ansatz. Second, I will show how this logic allowed us to lead to identify a remarkably simple and novel integrable relativistic N-body system, which describes the high energy worldsheet dynamics in 2-dimensional adjoint QCD.
