MP3 Meeting
Minutes of MP3 Meeting of 7 July 2010
(Present: Nuria, Reiner, Michele, Markus, Edward, Arjan, Jean-Philippe, Richard, Sandrine)
REINER: announced that an implementation that automatically will check the 2 Boards of QPS systems is under test in order to guarantee a continuity in the QPS_OK status.
NURIA: (See slide) List of QPS Items that WILL REQUIRE an ACTION in CCC (MP3 and EIC). The situation where more than 1QH is lost in a single magnet requires a slow power abort and needs to be implemented in some kind of intelligent interlock. Highlighted in red.
REINER: Losing one of the redundant UPS in the arc is considered “safe” (an FPA will be launched. If an UPS is however lost in the IPQs the FPA is NOT automatically launched and should be monitored. In case the interlock mentioned above is operational, it will include this case, as an UPS always controls at least 2 QH in the same IPQ. Needs to be checked for the separation dipoles or IPDs
NURIA: about preparation of next HWC (see slide). To be noted that today LHC is commissioned to a “mix” of 3.5/5 TeV depending on the circuits. This because the Nominal Energy for 2019/2010 run was reduced (during the HWC phase) from 5 to 3.5 TeV. Circuits presenting problems have been commissioned only to the minimum required currents.
IMPORTANT:
- To be prepared a List of Open Item before the end the 2009/2010 run.
- HWC Procedures must be updated: CALLING FOR VOLUNTEERS
RICHARD: (see slides) He presented the Status & Plans for the IPQ Splice Measurements.
NURIA: at next MP3 Meeting, MARKUS will present status of Automatic Analysis Tool. The incoming change to ON-CALL SERVICE for MP3-CCC is also linked with the availability of this tool.
ON-CALL SERVICE for MP3-CCC:
- Person’s availability for the ON-CALL Service will run weekly from Thursday morning to Wednesday.
- 1 person will cover DAY-HOURS (from 7h00 to 18h00) with attendance to 8h30 meeting at the CCC
- 1 other person will cover the NIGHT-HOURS (from18h00 to 7h00) + the FULL WEEKEND (with attendance to 9h00 meetings).
- Persons in shift contacted by EIC should be eventually at max 1hour time distance from CCC.
