New Announcements
IMPACT Declarations 2021 :
Please update the label on your setup. (Needs to start with 16xx)
----------------------------------Access System Maintenance :
Two days of Access System unavailable.
Currently planned in the first week of March (2nd-3rd) - During these 2 days the source will be OFF.-----------------------------------
Gas detection annual maintenance:
One day of maintenance. It will happen on March 3rd. Access to the bunker possible.
- Testing flammable gas supply valve power off -> iC4H10 will go off for some minutes
- Testing the flashing lights and local sirensPlease be aware that on Thursday March 4th, the EHN1 evacuation alarm will be triggered, for some gas detection test in the neutrino platform. In any case it will happen before 8.30am
----------------------------------
RP modification of the read-out electronic of the radiation monitoring
One day of maintenance. It will happen on TUE March 2nd. Access to the bunker possible but source OFF.
----------------------------------
New gas installation request for NA61 & NA64:
Proposed date: together with the annual maintenance in the week 18 (03-07.05)
Installation of a new gas patch panel for the NA64 (upstream GIF++). In principle we will need to stop the neutral gas supply for 1h in order to connect a two ways valve starting from our patch panel in the preparation area. In the meantime, also the iC4H10 line will be stopped at least for half a day. It will be needed in order to connect on the same line (bldg. 909), a new one for the NA61 experiment.
----------------------------------
Irradiator Maintenance : NO OPERATION ! LIMITED ACCESS !
Scheduled : Week 9 (01-05.03)Cancelled because of COVID-19 restriction
Fall back : Week 18 (03-07.05) -

Muon Beam Scheduling 2021
Preparation and Scheduling of Muon Beam Time 2021
Deadline passed. Beam request submitted to SPS Physics Coordinator last Saturday.
North Area Physics : 12.July to 14.November 2021
We expect to receive the first version of the NA schedule (including GIF) in end of April. We now need to start the space planning for the beam weeks.
Please provide either a CAD drawing (preferred) or food-print (frowned upon) of your setup so we can see how / if they can be aligned along the beam line. -

Weekly planning
WILL BE UPDATED DURING THE MEETING !!!
----------------------------------
Weekly Planning : https://teamup.com/ksvh7dak8mub8k7xpe
UPSTREAM : Default filter settings : 4.6 till Wednesday 24th
DOWNSTREAM : Default filter settings : 1----------------------------------
ATLAS - MM :
3 long term chambers placed (on the ceiling), operational.
New detector installed yesterday on the back of CMS-CSC. Maybe another 2 chambers coming next week even if is not sure yet. Discussion started for the installation of another chamber (setup containing the iC4H10 mixture) in front of CMS-CSC in order to have an higher rate.ATLAS - sTGC : New stand for flushing chambers before testing operational. Chambers arrived from Chile. Continuing with the standard test. Problem on the temporary exhaust lines solved.
ATLAS - sMDT :
Gas quality will be changed from class II to class III (new bottles to be ordered) REQUEST : Running at Upstream 4.6x after Margaret's scan, starting from today till WED 24th.CMS - CSC: Progressing with the activity to resume everything after the long stop. No need in this week for some source OFF measurements, apart the usual Wednesday. Gas purifier to be changed
EP-DT2 : System restarted. The aging test with eco-friendly gas mixture are going well.
Request : Once per month test with Ar, operated from a local bottle.CMS-DT: Expected to return to bunker later this year. INFN still blocking activity outside Italy.
EcoGas: New detector installed. Restarted. Test campaign resumed using eco-friendly mixture (HFO).
CMS-RPC: Radiation program resumed on trolley 1. Some impedance problem to solve on the new chambers. Gas kill signal that didn't work when the R134a- FIXED. From now on, whenever a source OFF scan is needed, they are going to try to use the upstream abs set to 333 for most of the time. Indeed, there will be the need to switch OFF completely the source for few final step during the scan.
ATLAS-RPC: Coming back for the moment, not before March 2021.

New requests for tests at GIF
introduction, goal of the test, plan, needs
BLM measuring campaign announced / ≈ 100 BLM, 6h approx. Week 45 (November 2nd till Friday 6th ). We will arrange everything in a way that the setup could be installed inside the bunker in the upstream area near ATL-sTGC setup -> postponed until next year
----------------------------------
Bulgaria academy of science -> testing of new type of radiation monitor systemA new setup of ALICE-RPC will come. More news in coming weeks.
Lab on Fiber (LOF) dosimeterGas recuperation system to be installed - Responsible : Roberto
4 additional racks in Gas Service area. One containing flammable gas.
FG detection system to be installed, power needs to be provided.
(DELAYED by a few months. Will be first installed in CMS, and only later come to GIF) -

Long Term Planning
Gas usage at GIF : we need to compile a table of gas mixture / consumption
Gas training courses : ATEX level 1 and F-Gas training courses.
List of trained people to be collected.- https://lms.cern.ch/ekp/servlet/UNIVERSALSEARCH?ACTION=SEARCH&KEYW=atex

Patrol rights : Will be reset before the Muon Beam (July).
Please contact Giuseppe for re-qualification.Training Session for CESAR to be organised before beam time.

Infrastructure & Upgrades to the Facility
Improvements needed or planned for the facility.
Speakers: Giuseppe Pezzullo (CERN), Martin Richard Jaekel (CERN)Monitoring of primary lines to be done. This year we will have the monitoring of the neutral gas (Ar/CO2/Helium/N2), instead next year it will be done also for the other (iC4H10, R134a, SF6, CF4 etc.). This signals will be then available in PVSS.
Cooling system expected to be back on 15.02. Fully operational from end of next week (Feb 26th)
On going discussion for main HFO gas supply line
Removal of the fire detection interlock with the GIF++ control room. It should happen in the next couple of weeks. Since the signal is an 'active high' there won't be any impact on our equipment. Everything will than be checked when the times comes for the next AULs testing. We will try to test already with the gas detection annual maintenance if possible scheduled for March
Power-cut in the EHN1 (yesterday Feb 10th) due to an unintentional action on the AUG (Arrêts d'Urgence Généraux). Downtime for the facility ~1h. After today's meeting, and as far as the users could check, there was no main issue on the setups. In case, this problem will be followed during next meetings.
Increasing of R134a consumption -> to be followed
GIFCS-Pytimber app issue still under investigation
HVAC filters changed yesterday FEB WED 17th. HVAC back in operation at 4pm.
New ethernet switch installed in our electronic racks area (887-R-K83)

General Items
-
a) IMPACTs for 2021
Guidelines for filling in IMPACT requests
List of active IMPACT declarations : https://impact.cern.ch/impact/secure/activities/accessPoint/YDALC02-PPE154
General Guideline : One IMPACT per setup.
- two chambers on individual supports -> 2 IMPACT declarations
- multiple chambers swapped on same or similar support -> one IMPACT declaration
- basically, if you need two locations, please make two IMPACT declaration (clone)
Each Setup should have IMPACT label attached with number.
Attached documents : CAD file or picture.
Review working hours : if your declaration includes the bunker area, please state the number of hours you want to stay INSIDE the bunker only (for RP purposes). -
b) CoVid-19
CoVid-19 Risk Assessment for the Facility : https://edms.cern.ch/document/2376286/1
General guideline :
- ONE setup to enter the bunker at any given time.
- All presence at the GIF and access to the bunker needs to be announced via Teamup beforehand (!)
- Traceability of people on site : Logbook ! - List all the people you encountered.
