Description

Abstract:

Please note that the we kindly ask you when connecting to this seminar to mute your microphones and cameras in order to have a good connection.

Materials have to display properties compatible with the target application and assessing how a material behaves under the effect of a magnetic field is crucial for a vast range of projects at CERN. One of the TE-MSC-TM section mandates is operating the Magnetic Measurements of Materials’ service for the CERN community. This seminar aims at presenting the service, the measurement principles and the set of test benches we use for the magnetic characterization of materials. This group consists of complementary solutions, some based on industry standards while others are internally developed. These are necessary to cover a broad spectrum of requirements, mainly dependent on expected material behavior, test fields and test temperatures. Example of measurement campaigns are presented as a reference.
