Run preparations: All
=======================
We expect 4.8 s per spill, 2000 spills per day. Yftach estimates we can take 1Khz rate so might hope for
‣~ 106 events per day. ‣TS1 affecting last day of test beam.
 H2/H4 beam momenta are strongly coupled  so
‣High-rate pure electrons in both beam lines is not possible
‣High-rate, same polarity hadrons in both lines is not possible

>>> Todo: Plan data taking strategy - to be sure we can accomplish all our goals.
Slides show links for required training and Covid restrictions.

DOE Proposal:
=============
Two day drafting workshop went well. Need to get to V0 by next week.

News from the groups:
=====================

Michael will talk with Zvi early next week about the final design of the EM light guides.
Hiring 2 new UMD students. Upgrading linac, adding beam position monitors that will improve energy resolution. Hope to present previous irradiation studies next few weeks.

BGU waiting for parts to arrive, in particular the CAEN DAQ cards. Working on adjusting the rods for polishing.

Hengne Li talked with LHCb officials. They don't think it can get into FTDR but this is not too serious. Management, in particular Burkhardt,  is still enthusiastic of the project. Gunda Gong still working on calibrations.

Hengne Li has been in contact with LHCb upgrade managers, they have put the ZDC into their plans. Guanda is learning about simulation.  At Maryland Tim has done a spectroscopic analysis of the quartz and measured a wide range of elements in the GE 214 quartz. We should do this on any sample we get. UIUC hiring 2-3 new undergrads.

UIUC and BGU meeting after this to discuss polishing.

Next meeting Wed 2nd June 2021,  8.15am CDT, 15.15 CEST.
