Test Beam Preparations:
=======================
Ricardo said that the UIC group is working on the procedure for threading the fibers through the pan flute. They will start with cheap test fibers before moving on to more expensive fibers. They plan to ship everything in mid-August.
Alice asked about people schedule. See

BGU has polished 800 rods and expects to finish by 28 July.
Michael, Yuval, Allen and Zvi worked out the light guide geometry.
>>> Todo: Ricardo send some cheap rods to Kansas to help work out how we thread rods can be threaded through the EM section.
DOE Proposal
=============
No editing on proposal this week!
>>> Todo: Needs to be reviewed throughout. Michael will go through the proposal this week.
We also need a data-management plan that is specific for the ZDC information.
Ricardo is working on the budget and the elements that DOE requires. The proposal will be submitted from UIUC with sub-contracts to other institutes. Ricardo, Peter and Michael sent email to WP8 about how to handle costs and risks of things built at CERN.
Celcillia from the UIUC research office has sent requests to PIs asking for bio-sketches etc.
>>> PIs Please respond to Celcillia.
>>> Question: Do we have to pay for cable removal?
Removing of cables will go through ENEL.
>>> Todo: Sorina check with Laza on this. Peter talk to Jean Luca.
Riccardo has also worked on flattening out the budget curve.
>>> Todo: Michael summarize costs spent at Kansas on designs and prototypes.
News from the groups:
======================
Alice has finished teaching the nuclear chemistry summer school. For the irradiation campaign they are working on polishing the quartz rods at the cut ends. They will take a baseline photometry scan before irradiation.
>>> Riccardo asked if UMD could do mechanical tests on the rods before and after test beam.
>>> Todo: Tim Koeth send a few sentences on Maryland radiation facility.

Hengne Li and Guanda commented that they have some tungsten plates. They plan to use fibers in coupled directly to a PMT to collect light from cosmic ray muons.
Michael submitted an abstract on JZCapa to the DNP meeting, Oct 11-14 in Boston.
Next meeting Wed 14 July 2021, 8.15am CDT, 15.15 CEST.
