Minutes of ZDC Meeting Thursday 26 August 2021
================================================

Present:
Alice Mignerey, Duane Ingram, Sam Lascio, Eric Adams,
 Michael Murray, Quan Wang, Cole Le Mahieu, Oliver Suranyi

Test Beam Preparations
=======================
Michael started the meeting by showing the new RPD frame,
>>> see slides.

The HV distribution board is still being manufactured but the PCB should arrive at KU tomorrow. Then Robert Young will put in pins and test it.
>>> Todo: Alice will make up tiles and fibers this weekend and send them to CERN at address below. She will also send "liquid cement" and any thing else needed to mount the fibers.

Michael will send mechanics to Tina directly from KU.

The ZDC area at Pt 5 is clean, has limited access, and is next to machine shops. This might be a good place to assemble stuff.

RPD: Eric + Sam
===============
Sam is slogging through a set of calibrations, versus run number and centrality for the RPD. The set of runs is that which Eric is using. Afterwards he will look other runs that the flow group wants.

Eric commented that none of the standard CMS approved physics based generators produce a V1. Another option is to create a V1 by weighting. What this does not do is to include non flow such as momentum  conservation. Quan felt that the best thing to do was to create a random V1(pt) and propagate neutrons into the ZDC. Then run through MC and reconstruct V1.

Deconvolution: Oliver Surani
=============================
Oliver is working on documenting codes.
>>> Todo: Oliver send his writeup to Duane for review

Pending Action Items
=====================================
>>> Todo: Find someone to emulate the ZDC rigger.
