  • Nothing done and to report by LPh

TPC

To remember/to do

  • still to do: to change pressure sensors from bara to barg —> LPh asap

From previous meeting (05/10)

  • Krohne: only present one readying for the full system (distribution is just one channel) —> Leonardo gave to Michal the formula (15/10) —> Michal to implement

TRD

  • still spikes present in regulation valve of the pump (reported by piquet): Beatrice checked with Chilo who suspects are due to change of temperature of gas when electrics goes on/off

To remember:

  • distribution module: one big difference between PT and pressure gauge: to check which one is wrong
  • T sensor in pump: Patrick said he can do but it takes time —> postponed
  • difficult to restart: need to work on PID of pump and distribution when correct gas present

  • alarm of computed ratio in mixer blocked —> LPh to unblock asap
  • fluctuations in Exhaust MFC —> to check
  • exhaust Patm in error LL —> LPh to check with Michal
  • XMFC of exhaust was in error (also others exhaust MFCs sometimes are in error), now error disappeared —> Michal/Kacper to connect to the MFC to try to understand why and/or replace to see if it is related to profibus
  • next week: visit to check for cable for pressure sensor of chamber
  • GC set-up: Chilo doesn’t want to have He in common

From previous meeting (22/01)

To remember:

  • calibration bottle arrived for H2O sensors
  • found 60 ppm of offset in Vaisala (but within the specification): new calibration to do (bottle ordered)
  • list of pressure sensors replaced in the last years —> Kacper
  • some spikes in flowcells after the upgrade, spikes also up to 3000 l/h so it is not a real flow spike —> Gianluca to prepare few examples
  • Rack 73: change of ELMB and now ok. Michal to check the ELMB in the lab

RPC

  • sniffing in all racks to check for leaks on-going
  • waiting for Bronkhost for MFC LF line re-calibration
  • now 1050 l/h because we lowered flow of rack 69 (in open mode)
  • next week start to work in new racks for adding impedance, calibration flowcells, regulation valves and back-up

  • rack 63: working on flow and readout of flowcell.
  • rack 67: stop and start several time (asked by TGC people)

  • stop due to cooling water failure, now fixed and Kostya restarted system

From previous meeting (23/10)

  • Krohne new formula prepared by Leonardo —> Michal to implement
  • Krone exhaust not working properly: to check if it is the krohne or our electrical part. Patrick to try to check the electrical part

MMG

  • MMG 1200 ppm of H2O: ok
  • IR installed, finishing cabling.
  • Logic: if iC4H10 high —> stop of mixer
  • rack 61 on MMG electrically (before in CSC). Some issue found and fixed
  • rack 61: on CO2 flushing local
  • web mass moved from CSC to MMG —> Michal to move software readout
  • to do safety visit for flammable gas —> Beatrice/Kacper

RPC

  • 22/11: zone declassified for few days to allow zen to do welding
  • demonstrator chamber connected to purge (from mixer) somewhere in endcap
  • IR finishing pipes
  • IR: temporary modification to have all alarms in one infrared and run with iC4H10 —> Patrick
  • received glasses for rotameters —> to install at next stop
  • manual valve of pump is half open —> to open completely when we increase the flow
  • working on PID for regulation valves: presentation by Mattia: https://indico.cern.ch/event/1098517/contributions/4622366/attachments/2349394/4007115/PID%20tuning.pdf
  • group 1 and 5: new regulation valves installed: to start racks and see if new seat is ok

To remember:

  • iC4H10 problem: still 0.1% difference—> Mara to check with the company:
    • according to company calibration should be performed once/month. coherent with discrepancy we see, develops after ~ 4-6 weeks. Calibration has to be done manually, 5% isobutane bottle is flammable, cannot stay permanently connected in rack (checked with R. Perruzza)

CSC

  • Arcal 10 installed for few days (instead of 15) in the meanwhile that zone is declassified

To remember to do

  • new Von Rohr regulation valve to test

DT

  • in open mode, test on mixer to check Ar/CO2/Air concentration
  • to plan installation of new regulation valve for the exhaust

To remember

  • test on the exhaust module since when there is a start after a stop we loose ~0.1-0.2 bar: it looks like regulation valves in distribution open too fast. PID changed, to do other tests

GEM

  • filter installed at the input of distribution

TRACKER

  • MFM to install: postponed to next year by Tracker team

  • fluctuations in Exhaust MFC, buffer pressure and total flow —> to investigate
  • strange behaviour of flowcell during the pilot run —> to check if same behaviour in other systems

Reminder

  • SG-UX pipe to test
  • check of flowcells reading and check with Oleg if he does some leak test —> Mara/Patrick

  • We need to define how to proceed for the classification of warnings and alarms
  • Slide on the modifications asked by Schniedr with pictures and time needed to do modification
  • To fix the StepWS problem asap otherwise difficult to have history in case of problems —> Michal/Gianluca
  • Patrick will prepare a box with all spare material for PLC. Box will be in electrical workshop

Self-testing at CERN for anyone without symptoms

Since the launch of self-testing at CERN, 6082 tests have been performed. Self-testing is a vital part of CERN’s strategy to protecting the health and safety of those on-site, and in keeping the laboratory open. With studies indicating that some 40-50% of people testing positive are asymptomatic, we strongly encourage everyone working on site to take advantage of self-testing.

Self-testing on-site is available for those coming on-site and exhibiting no symptoms. There are 11 self-testing points at CERN, the list and map locations for them are available here: https://hse.cern/content/covid-19-auto-testing-places. You can easily sign-up for a self-test using the PLAMED tool: https://plamed.web.cern.ch/.
