Maria's notes

There was no Solid World for 2 months. Starting today a 30' mins networking slot is added every time.

Flanders meeting in November with TimBL and Ruben.
Great enthusiasm from the Flanders government for Solid.
imec gives 7M euros

The openhospitality app (about hosting each other free of charge) won a prize.

A new notifications protocol is coming up - feedback welcome!

Ruben on Web APIs for decentralised knowledge graphs. The ecosystem of Solid pods forms a decentralised knowledge graph. It can't be stored in one place due to volume and privacy issues. The issue is how to access, search this knowledge stored on the pods. The Web APIs  offer access to remote functionality.
It is true the developers face challenges to make solid apps but the APIs are already offered y the servers. The call is now for reusable client development patters. Feedback welcome!
Universal semantics is the most important thing
Decentralised API can have performance issues but indexing and caching help with scalability questions. Decoupling how data is fetched and what info is needed makes things easier.
